Yamunanagar: The Municipal Corporation is accelerating development works across the city’s wards. In this direction, MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora and Mayor Suman Bahmani on Wednesday laid the foundation stones for projects worth ₹30.50 lakh in Ward No. 12 and Ward No. 11. The works will cover Tirth Nagar Colony and Hanuman Colony and include construction of streets and drains to improve local infrastructure.

The two public representatives formally inaugurated the projects by breaking coconuts, accompanied by councillors Tilak Raj and Santosh Rani. The works are expected to provide residents with better movement through their neighbourhoods and improved drainage facilities. The foundation-laying ceremony marked the commencement of the planned construction in the two localities.

Paved Streets to Be Constructed in Tirth Nagar

Mayor Suman Bahmani said a paved street would be constructed in Tirth Nagar at a cost of ₹16.05 lakh. The work will cover the stretch from Batra Factory to Subhash’s house and the stretch from Sonu’s house to Rajiv’s shop.

The proposed construction is intended to improve connectivity within the colony and make daily movement more convenient for residents. The streets have been identified for development in response to local requirements and demands. With the completion of the work, residents are expected to benefit from improved street conditions, while the project will also address a long-standing demand in the locality.

Hanuman Colony to Get Street and Drain Construction

In Ward No. 11, various streets and drains will be constructed in Hanuman Colony at an estimated cost of ₹14.45 lakh. The work forms part of the Municipal Corporation’s efforts to improve basic civic infrastructure in different wards.

The construction of streets and drains is expected to help residents in their daily movement and provide better drainage arrangements in the colony. The combined estimated cost of the two projects is ₹30.50 lakh. Together, the initiatives cover street construction and drainage infrastructure, with the aim of addressing local needs in both areas.

    Mayor Emphasises Planned Development

Mayor Suman Bahmani said development works were being undertaken in the Municipal Corporation area in a planned manner. She said projects were being prioritised according to the requirements of each ward and the demands raised by residents.

She directed officials to ensure that all construction works were completed within the stipulated time and maintained proper quality standards. The objective, she said, was to ensure that citizens could benefit from the facilities at the earliest. The Mayor stressed that timely execution and quality construction were important for providing lasting benefits to residents and asked officials to ensure that the works were carried out as planned.
