The Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation has initiated another road development project aimed at improving connectivity and basic infrastructure in the city’s Model Town area. Mayor Suman Bahmani and MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora laid the foundation stone for a road to be constructed in Ward No. 8 at an estimated cost of ₹92.38 lakh.

Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad and Ward Councillor Vibhor Pahuja were also present at the ceremony. The commencement of the project was marked by the Mayor and MLA breaking a coconut on a JCB machine, formally signalling the start of the construction work.

Road to Connect Sagar Ratna Hotel with Pars Ram Chowk

Mayor Suman Bahmani and Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad said the road would be built from Sagar Ratna Hotel on Govindpuri Road, passing through Yamuna Club and extending to Pars Ram Chowk. The stretch is expected to improve movement for residents and other road users in the surrounding area.

According to the details shared by the civic authorities, the road will have two bituminous layers measuring 50 mm and 30 mm respectively. The specified construction layers are intended to provide greater strength to the road and improve the convenience of daily travel.

The project forms part of the Municipal Corporation’s efforts to improve road infrastructure and basic civic facilities in different parts of Yamunanagar. A better road surface can make local journeys more convenient for residents who regularly use the connecting routes for everyday activities.

Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad said the road construction would be carried out in accordance with the prescribed technical standards and quality requirements. He said the concerned officials would be directed to monitor the work to ensure that construction was completed with proper quality and within the stipulated timeframe.

The Commissioner said the objective was to ensure that residents received the intended benefits of the project. Monitoring the construction process and adhering to technical requirements would be important to delivering the road as planned.
