With preparations in full swing for the district’s flagship ‘Run Against Drugs – Yamunanagar Ke Sang’ campaign, the AYUSH Department, in collaboration with the district administration, has stepped up its outreach to encourage public participation in the anti-drug movement.
District Ayurveda Officer Dr Rajneesh said the department has been conducting a sustained awareness campaign through Ayush Yoga Sahayaks and medical officers, who are visiting villages and urban localities to educate people about the harmful effects of substance abuse while promoting yoga and healthy living as effective tools for prevention.
As part of the campaign, a major awareness run will be organised on Sunday, July 26, beginning at 5:15 am from Matka Chowk, Jagadhri, passing through key locations across the city.
The event is expected to witness participation from thousands of yoga practitioners, many of whom have already completed online registration through various yoga centres across the district.
Dr Rajneesh said Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will attend the programme as the Chief Guest. To encourage wider participation, the state government has also announced cash prizes for the top finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories. Participants can register online through the official marathon portal.
Highlighting the objective of the initiative, Dr Rajneesh said the department aims to realise the vision of a ‘Yoga-Yukt, Nasha-Mukt Haryana’ by encouraging young people to embrace yoga, Ayurveda and a healthy lifestyle instead of substance abuse.
Besides the marathon, participants will also take an anti-drug pledge, while awareness rallies and community outreach programmes will continue to spread the message across the district.
Appealing for mass participation, the District Ayurveda Officer urged Gram Panchayats, educational institutions, social organisations and residents to actively support the campaign and contribute towards building a healthier and drug-free Yamunanagar.

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Preeti reviews the ongoing Special Intensive Revision-2026 campaign.
The Special Intensive Revision-2026 of the electoral rolls has entered its final phase in Yamunanagar, with District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Preeti urging eligible voters to submit their verification forms before the July 24 deadline.
The DC said the revision exercise is being carried out in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India to ensure that the electoral roll remains accurate, updated and inclusive.
She informed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting door-to-door verification across the district and collecting enumeration forms from eligible voters. The exercise, along with the rationalisation and reorganisation of polling stations, will continue until July 24.
According to the official schedule, the draft electoral roll will be published on July 31, after which citizens will have an opportunity to file claims and objections from July 31 to August 30.
All claims and objections will be examined between July 31 and September 28, while the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 3, 2026.
Deputy Commissioner Preeti stressed that a clean and updated electoral roll is the cornerstone of a transparent democratic process and urged all eligible citizens to ensure that their details are correctly recorded.
She appealed to residents who have not yet completed the verification process to submit their forms to their respective Booth Level Officers well before the deadline to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
