With preparations gaining momentum for the ‘Nashe Se Jung – Yamunanagar Ke Sang’ (Run Against Drugs) marathon scheduled for July 26, the Yamunanagar Police have intensified their public outreach campaign by engaging directly with the district’s sporting community.

As part of the awareness drive, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ashish Chaudhary visited Tejli Stadium, where he interacted with athletes during their training sessions and urged them to become ambassadors of the district-wide anti-drug movement.

Addressing the players, the ASP said drug abuse not only destroys an individual’s future but also has a devastating impact on families and society as a whole. He stressed that channeling youthful energy into sports, education and other constructive pursuits is the most effective way to build a healthier and more responsible generation.

“Fighting drug abuse is not the responsibility of the police alone. Every citizen has a moral duty to contribute towards eliminating this social menace,” Chaudhary said while encouraging the athletes to take an active role in the campaign.

The police officer appealed to the players to participate in large numbers in the upcoming marathon and motivate their teammates, friends and family members to register for the event. Several athletes completed their marathon registrations on the spot during the interaction.

To amplify the campaign’s reach, Chaudhary also encouraged participants to use the official ‘Nashe Se Jung – Yamunanagar Ke Sang’ digital display picture (DP) on their mobile phones and social media profiles. He said social media has become a powerful platform for public awareness, and widespread participation online would help deliver a strong message against substance abuse across the district.

The athletes welcomed the initiative and assured the police administration of their wholehearted support. They pledged not only to participate in the marathon themselves but also to inspire more young people to join the movement.

Calling the campaign both timely and socially significant, the athletes said promoting sports and healthy lifestyles is one of the most effective ways to steer youth away from drugs and build a stronger community.

The Yamunanagar Police have appealed to residents from all walks of life to participate enthusiastically in the July 26 anti-drug marathon and contribute to the collective mission of creating a drug-free Yamunanagar.
