Haryana Agriculture Minister addresses village gatherings across Radaur; urges people to participate in public welfare initiatives and extend timely help to accident victims

Works carried out with a genuine spirit of service and dedication are ultimately an offering to the Almighty, and sincere efforts have the power to bring positive change across every sphere of life, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Shyam Singh Rana said while addressing programmes organised under the Seva Sankalp Campaign in several villages and locations of the Radaur area.
Rana addressed gatherings at Safal Palace in Radaur, Rawat Palace in Farkpur and in Lakshibans, Bahadurpur and Alahar villages. On his arrival at the various programme venues, BJP leaders and local residents welcomed and felicitated him with flower garlands and bouquets.
Speaking about the objective of the Seva Sankalp Campaign, Rana said the initiative was being organised from September 17 to October 17, 2026, to mark 25 years of public service and governance associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He referred to Modi’s 13 years as Chief Minister of Gujarat and his subsequent tenure as Prime Minister of the country, describing the period as one of governance and public service.
Rana said the campaign seeks to communicate the themes of good governance, public service and the vision of a developed India by 2047 to people at the grassroots level. He said a range of activities would be organised during the campaign, including blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, exhibitions, seminars and awareness programmes relating to government welfare schemes.
According to the minister, the development achievements witnessed in the country in recent years represent signs of change and progress. He said various new dimensions of development had been established and credited the BJP-led governments with pursuing policies aimed at taking the country forward while keeping the interests of different sections of society in consideration.
Rana said the BJP had achieved several milestones since coming to power in 2014 and had introduced development-oriented policies and welfare schemes for different sections of society. He described the party as people-oriented and said its approach was focused on promoting development and welfare across society.
He also highlighted the contribution of BJP ideologues Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya to the organisation and its philosophy. Rana said the BJP continues to follow the principle of Antyodaya, which emphasises ensuring that the benefits of welfare and development reach the last person in society.
He said Deendayal Upadhyaya believed that welfare schemes should reach the most disadvantaged sections without discrimination. Referring to employment, Rana claimed that the BJP government was providing opportunities to young people through a transparent recruitment process and used the phrase “without slips and without expenses” to underline the government’s stated emphasis on merit and transparency.
The minister said public service should not be confined to government institutions and elected representatives. According to him, citizens also have an important role in supporting people around them and contributing to the welfare of their communities.
Mayor Suman Bahmani, speaking at the Seva Sankalp Campaign programme in Farkpur, said development works were being undertaken in different areas under BJP governments and that people were experiencing changes through improved development and welfare initiatives.
Bahmani said transparency, accountability and timely implementation were being given the highest priority in development and public welfare works undertaken by the Municipal Corporation. She said the objective of the campaign was to ensure that people could access government welfare schemes and municipal services in a simple, transparent and time-bound manner.
She also invited BJP leaders, workers, village heads and residents to participate in a programme being organised to mark the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya on September 25, 2026. The event will be held in the form of a morning walk at Grain Market, Radaur, and she appealed to people to participate along with their families.
The programmes also highlighted another aspect of public service when Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana stopped his convoy after noticing two people injured in a road accident while travelling from Yamunanagar towards Radaur.
Rana reportedly noticed the injured persons on the roadside and stopped his vehicle. He then arranged for the two injured people to be taken to hospital without delay in his pilot vehicle, enabling them to receive medical attention.
Speaking about the incident, Rana said human life is invaluable and that every person should demonstrate compassion and come forward to help someone in need, particularly during an emergency. He appealed to members of the public not to hesitate when they encounter people injured in road accidents and to ensure that they receive medical assistance as quickly as possible.
The minister said helping an injured person reach a hospital in time is an important expression of humanity. He stressed that people should overcome hesitation and extend immediate assistance whenever circumstances require it.
People present at the spot appreciated Rana’s decision to stop and personally ensure that the injured individuals were taken to hospital. They described the prompt response as an example of sensitivity and concern for human life.
The incident also provided a practical dimension to the minister’s message about public service. While addressing the Seva Sankalp programmes, Rana had emphasised the importance of serving people with sincerity and dedication. His response to the road accident demonstrated the same message in an emergency situation, according to those present.
The Seva Sankalp Campaign programmes brought together BJP leaders, elected representatives, village heads, workers and residents from different areas. The campaign is intended to create greater awareness about government schemes and encourage public participation in activities connected with cleanliness, social service, welfare and community development.
Among those present were Haryana Safai Commission chairman and former MLA Ishwar Singh Palaka, Radaur BJP Mandal president Krishna Kamboj, Farkpur BJP Mandal president Sandhya Rawat, senior BJP leaders Dhanpat Saini, Rishi Pal Saini, Happy Kheri, Surender Singh Cheema, Gopal Krishna and Raj Kumar Sharma, councillor Ujjwal Thakur, along with village heads, senior BJP leaders and party workers from various villages.
The gatherings also reinforced the administration and party leadership’s emphasis on connecting government initiatives with people at the local level. Through public meetings and awareness activities, the campaign seeks to communicate welfare programmes and encourage citizens to participate in community-oriented activities.
Rana said the spirit of service should remain at the centre of public life and urged people to contribute to society wherever possible. From participating in cleanliness and welfare activities to helping someone injured in an accident, he said, responsible citizenship requires people to respond with sensitivity and a willingness to assist others.
The Seva Sankalp Campaign will continue through October 17, with activities planned around public service, welfare awareness, cleanliness and other community-oriented initiatives. The programmes in the Radaur area provided a platform for BJP leaders and residents to discuss the campaign’s objectives while also highlighting the importance of public participation in development and social welfare.
