Kurukshetra will host a grand drone show as part of the Haryana government’s Service Sankalp Campaign, with the administration planning a month-long series of celebrations, competitions, awareness programmes and public-service initiatives from September 17 to October 17.
Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena said all programmes organised under the campaign would be conducted in the spirit of a celebration so that people could actively participate in activities highlighting development and public welfare. The drone show will showcase developmental works undertaken in the country and Haryana, providing residents with a visual presentation of major achievements and projects.
Meena was addressing officials during a meeting held at the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat, where he reviewed preparations for the campaign and issued necessary directions for its effective implementation.
The Deputy Commissioner said the campaign would bring together a wide range of activities designed to connect citizens with government welfare initiatives and highlight development achieved over the past several years. Various competitions, celebrations and public programmes will be organised across the district during the month-long campaign.
As part of the campaign, the administration will also incorporate the Government at Your Doorstep programme. Camps will be organised in one village in each block, where officials will reach residents directly and facilitate access to eligible government schemes and services.
Meena directed officials to ensure that beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of the Central and Haryana governments are actively connected with the campaign. He suggested that lamps be lit at the homes of beneficiaries as part of the campaign and that their experiences and stories of how government initiatives have affected their lives be brought before the wider public.
The administration will also organise seminars highlighting development and public welfare activities carried out in Kurukshetra over the past 12 years. These programmes will focus on the changes brought about in people’s lives through development initiatives and welfare schemes and will seek to communicate these experiences to the wider public.
Meena also directed officials to arrange screenings of documentaries related to development journeys at public places. Such presentations will showcase important development projects and achievements and provide residents with an accessible way of learning about the transformation taking place in the district.
The experiences of women associated with self-help groups will also receive special attention during the campaign. The Deputy Commissioner said the changes in the lives of women connected with self-help groups should be highlighted prominently to demonstrate how collective economic activity and government support have contributed to their empowerment and improved livelihoods.
The administration has also been asked to identify major development assets and projects across the district so that they can be effectively presented to the public. These will include village secretariats, gyms, initiatives undertaken for farmers, roads, expressways and other major development projects.
Meena instructed officials to prepare appropriate information about these projects so that their contribution to public welfare and local development can be presented effectively during the campaign.
Special emphasis has also been placed on the participation of school students. The Deputy Commissioner directed the District Education Officer to encourage children to participate in painting, speech and other competitions being organised as part of the campaign.
He said students who perform exceptionally well should be recognised and honoured. The administration was also asked to ensure maximum participation from both government and private schools, giving students from different educational institutions an opportunity to take part in the campaign’s activities.
The competitions are expected to provide a platform for students to express their understanding of development, public service and social responsibility through creative and educational activities.
Another significant component of the campaign will be the Seva Setu camps at the block level. Meena said these camps would enable the administration to reach people directly and assist eligible residents in accessing various government schemes and services.
He directed officials to give special prominence to the Lado Lakshmi Scheme during the Seva Setu camps so that eligible women receive adequate information and assistance regarding the programme.
The Deputy Commissioner said the annual family income eligibility limit under the Lado Lakshmi Scheme would now be increased to ₹1.80 lakh. He said payments under the scheme to eligible beneficiaries would begin from November 1.
The Seva Setu camps will provide eligible women with information about the scheme’s eligibility criteria, application procedure and necessary formalities. The objective is to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of the scheme’s benefits because of a lack of information or difficulty in completing the application process.
Meena directed officials to ensure that awareness and assistance relating to the scheme are provided on a wide scale. The block-level camps will therefore serve as an important platform for connecting eligible women with the programme and helping them understand the process for availing themselves of its benefits.
The Deputy Commissioner said the overall objective of the Service Sankalp Campaign was to strengthen the connection between the administration and the public while showcasing development and ensuring wider access to welfare schemes.
He emphasised that all departments must work in close coordination to ensure that the programmes are organised effectively and that the campaign reaches people across urban as well as rural areas.
The month-long campaign will combine public celebrations, development showcases, awareness activities, student competitions and direct service delivery. Through the drone show, documentaries, seminars, beneficiary interactions and village-level camps, the administration plans to present development achievements while simultaneously facilitating access to government schemes.
Meena urged officials to approach the campaign with seriousness and responsibility and ensure that every programme has meaningful public participation.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner and Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Pankaj Setia, Pehowa SDM Rahul, Thanesar SDM Aman Kumar, Shahabad SDM Shambhu Rathi, Ladwa SDM Rajesh Kumar Soni, District Education Officer Vinod Kaushik, District Revenue Officer Chetna Chaudhary and other senior officials.
The administration said preparations would continue across departments to ensure that the Service Sankalp Campaign becomes an effective platform for showcasing development, celebrating public participation and taking government services directly to eligible citizens.
