Agriculture Minister invites villagers across Radaur to September 25 programme marking Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Shyam Singh Rana visited several villages in the Radaur Assembly constituency and interacted with residents on development issues, basic amenities and local concerns. During his visits to Potli, Rajheri, Mandhar, Palewala, Dhaundang, Khajuri and Radaur, Rana also invited villagers to participate in a programme to be organised on September 25, 2026, to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Rana urged residents to attend the September 25 programme in large numbers and pay tribute to Upadhyaya, whose philosophy placed emphasis on the welfare and uplift of the poorest and the person standing at the last rung of society. During his visits, villagers welcomed the minister with enthusiasm and honoured him with flower garlands and bouquets.
Addressing the gatherings, Rana said the vision of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was centred on ensuring that welfare-oriented government policies reached the last person in society. He said the BJP governments at the Centre and in Haryana were working in accordance with this approach and focusing on extending the benefits of development and welfare schemes to people across social and economic groups.
The minister said the ideas and contributions of great national figures had continued to inspire public service and governance. According to him, governments led by the BJP had undertaken numerous development projects while strengthening the country’s economy and introducing welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of citizens.
Rana said Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Antyodaya, or the uplift of the person at the bottom of the social and economic ladder, remained an important source of inspiration for public service. He said it was the collective responsibility of society to take such ideals to the people and ensure that the message of service and social welfare remained relevant for future generations.
The Agriculture Minister also spoke about the importance of a strong political organisation. He said the BJP was an organised party and that a strong organisational structure enabled a political party to remain connected with people and pursue programmes aimed at public welfare.
Rana attributed the pace of development in the country and Haryana to what he described as a stronger economy under BJP governments. He said his own priority had been to ensure that the Radaur Assembly constituency received maximum possible development works and that basic infrastructure and public facilities continued to improve.
He also highlighted the BJP government’s decision to commemorate the birth anniversaries of prominent national figures and saints. Rana said initiatives to remember saints and great personalities provided an opportunity for society to learn from their teachings, knowledge and values.
According to Rana, the teachings of saints could provide people with a sense of peace and offer guidance for leading a purposeful life. He said remembering such personalities was not merely a ceremonial exercise but also an opportunity to connect younger generations with their ideas and social contributions.
The minister also spoke about government recruitment in Haryana and claimed that the BJP government had ended the influence of nepotism and corruption in the recruitment process. He said that, under the present system, young people were being selected for government employment on the basis of merit rather than personal connections.
Rana described the government’s recruitment policy with the phrase “no slips, no expenses”, emphasising the BJP’s claim that appointments were being made on merit. He said this had encouraged more young people to prepare for and appear in competitive examinations.
During his visits to the villages, Rana held detailed discussions with residents about ongoing and proposed development works, basic infrastructure and local public grievances. Villagers apprised him of various problems and requirements concerning their respective areas.
The minister listened to the concerns raised by residents and assured them that the issues would be examined seriously. He said every possible effort would be made to resolve legitimate problems through the concerned departments and accelerate development works in the constituency.
Rana said public confidence remained the government’s greatest strength and reiterated his commitment to the overall development of Radaur. He said the process of serving the people and improving infrastructure in the constituency would continue.
The minister’s village-level interactions also provided residents with an opportunity to directly raise issues concerning roads, basic amenities and other local development requirements. He assured the gatherings that their concerns would be taken up with the appropriate authorities wherever necessary.
Rana’s visits formed part of his interaction with residents in the constituency ahead of the September 25 programme. He appealed to villagers to participate actively and pay tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya while reflecting on his message of Antyodaya and social welfare.
Radaur BJP Mandal president Krishna Kamboj, senior BJP leaders Satpal Kamboj, Darshan Lal Bainiwal, Amar Pal Kaushik and Dharampal, along with Sandeep, Vipin, officials of the Market Committee and other BJP leaders and workers, were present during the minister’s village visits.
