Teachers and B.Ed students participate in a spiritually enriching programme as Officiating Principal Dr Jaspreet Kaur encourages students to pursue excellence with hard work, discipline and positive thinking

Sant Nischal Singh College of Education for Women, Santpura, Yamunanagar, observed Teachers’ Day on September 5 with a special recitation of Sukhmani Sahib organised on the college campus. The programme was held with devotion and spiritual fervour, with Officiating Principal Dr Jaspreet Kaur, faculty members and B.Ed students participating in the religious gathering.
The programme began at 10:30 am with the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib. Teachers and students participated in the recitation with deep devotion and concentration, creating a peaceful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere across the college campus. The programme continued for nearly two hours and concluded at 12:30 pm.
Following the completion of the recitation, the B.Ed students presented Shabad Kirtan with devotion. Their presentation added to the spiritual ambience of the occasion and reflected the students’ active participation in the religious programme. The Shabad Kirtan was followed by Ardas, after which Prasad was distributed among all those present.
The programme was organised as part of the Teachers’ Day observance and provided an opportunity for the college community to come together in an atmosphere of faith, reflection and gratitude. The participation of teachers and students made the occasion a collective expression of respect and spiritual devotion.
Speaking on the occasion, Officiating Principal Dr Jaspreet Kaur extended warm Teachers’ Day greetings to all faculty members and students. She also conveyed her best wishes to the students for the new academic session and prayed for their bright future and continued success.
Dr Kaur encouraged the students to move forward with hard work, discipline and positive thinking. She emphasised that consistent effort and a disciplined approach are essential for achieving academic and professional goals. She motivated the students to remain focused on their education and make sincere efforts to develop themselves as responsible and capable individuals.
She also highlighted the importance of values in the life of a student. For students pursuing B.Ed, education is not only about acquiring professional qualifications but also about developing the qualities required to become effective and responsible teachers. Patience, discipline, sensitivity, dedication and a positive attitude are important qualities for educators who will eventually guide future generations.
The spiritual atmosphere during the programme provided teachers and students an opportunity to reflect on the teachings of Guru Sahib and their relevance to everyday life. The participants expressed their commitment to incorporating these teachings and positive values into their personal and professional lives.
The college administration emphasised that educational institutions have a responsibility to support the holistic development of students. The observance of Teachers’ Day through Sukhmani Sahib recitation also provided a meaningful setting for teachers and students to participate together. The participation of B.Ed students was particularly significant as they are preparing for careers in education. After the recitation and Shabad Kirtan, Ardas was performed with devotion. The congregation then concluded with the distribution of Prasad to teachers, students and other participants. The concluding moments of the programme maintained the peaceful and spiritual character that had marked the event from the beginning.
The college community also conveyed its appreciation for the teachers and their contribution to the educational journey of students. Teachers play an important role in guiding learners, supporting their academic progress and helping them develop confidence and discipline.
