District Legal Services Authority urges litigants to approach DLSA for listing eligible Supreme Court cases in three-day special mediation initiative

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Yamunanagar, has invited litigants with eligible cases pending before the Supreme Court of India to participate in a Special Lok Adalat to be held from August 21 to 23, 2026, as part of the apex court’s initiative to promote amicable dispute resolution through mediation and settlement.District Legal Services Authority Secretary and Chief Judicial Magistrate Sumitra Kadian said individuals wishing to settle their pending Supreme Court cases through mutual agreement may approach their nearest District Legal Services Authority to have their matters considered for listing before the Special Lok Adalat. According to the DLSA, the Special Lok Adalat will consider a wide range of disputes, including cheque dishonour cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, money recovery suits, compoundable criminal cases, motor accident compensation claims (MACT), labour and employment disputes, family and matrimonial matters, landlord-tenant disputes, transfer petitions (civil and criminal), maintenance cases, land acquisition and land-related disputes, service matters, revenue cases, and other disputes that are legally eligible for settlement. The DLSA said advocates and litigants can access the list of referred matters arising within Haryana through the Haryana State Legal Services Authority website. Those whose cases have not yet been referred may submit the required details through the Google Form available on the Supreme Court of India website for consideration. Officials said the Special Lok Adalat aims to provide speedy, cost-effective and mutually agreed resolution of disputes, with settlements resulting in final and legally binding decisions.For further assistance, litigants have been advised to contact the District Legal Services Authority or seek guidance through the official communication channels of the Supreme Court of India.
