Eligible Students Can Apply Through Saral Haryana Portal Until November 30; Scholarship Amounts Range From ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 Depending on Course and Academic Performance

Deputy Commissioner Preeti has informed that online applications are being invited from eligible students of all castes and categories under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Meritorious Students Modified Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2026-27. The application process began on August 17, 2026, and eligible students can submit their applications through the Saral Haryana portal until November 30, 2026.
The scheme is being implemented by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, and Antyodaya Haryana with the objective of encouraging meritorious students to continue higher education. The scholarship provides financial assistance to eligible students based on their academic performance, category, residential area and the course they pursue.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the scholarship initiative is intended to support deserving students and encourage them to pursue higher education without allowing financial limitations to become a barrier to their academic progress. She urged eligible students and their families to carefully review the eligibility requirements and complete the online application process within the prescribed deadline.
Under the scheme, students belonging to the Scheduled Caste category who secure at least 70 per cent marks in Class 10 in urban areas and 60 per cent in rural areas are eligible for financial assistance of ₹8,000 when they take admission to Class 11 or the first year of any diploma or certificate course.
Similarly, Scheduled Caste students securing at least 75 per cent marks in Class 12 in urban areas and 70 per cent in rural areas can receive financial assistance when they enter the first year of undergraduate studies. For Arts, Commerce, Science and diploma or certificate courses, the scholarship amount is ₹8,000. Students pursuing engineering, technical and vocational courses are eligible for ₹9,000, while those taking admission to medical and medical allied courses can receive ₹10,000.
The scheme also provides assistance to eligible students moving from graduation to postgraduate education. Students who obtain the prescribed percentage in graduation and take admission to the first year of postgraduate courses can receive financial assistance. For Arts, Commerce and Science postgraduate courses, the scholarship amount is ₹9,000. Students pursuing engineering, technical and vocational courses are eligible for ₹11,000, while those entering medical and medical allied courses can receive ₹12,000.
The scheme has also been extended to eligible students from other categories subject to the prescribed academic criteria. For students belonging to Backward Class-A, those securing at least 70 per cent marks in Class 10 in urban areas and 60 per cent in rural areas can receive ₹8,000 per year upon admission to Class 11 or the first year of diploma or certificate courses.
For students belonging to Backward Class-B, the academic eligibility requirement is higher. Students securing at least 80 per cent marks in Class 10 in urban areas and 75 per cent in rural areas are eligible for ₹8,000 per year after taking admission to Class 11 or the first year of a diploma or certificate course.
Students belonging to the general category are also covered under the scheme. Those securing at least 80 per cent marks in Class 10 in urban areas and 75 per cent in rural areas can receive ₹8,000 per year after admission to Class 11 or the first year of any diploma or certificate course, subject to fulfilment of the other conditions prescribed under the scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the eligibility criteria have been structured to encourage academic excellence among students from different sections of society. The financial support is intended to help meritorious students continue their education and pursue courses aligned with their academic interests and career aspirations.
Students applying for the scholarship will be required to submit several documents along with their online application. These include a copy of the caste certificate, Haryana permanent residence certificate, Parivar Pehchan Patra, recent photograph, bank passbook, DMC or marksheet for 2026, and a valid identity document.
Applicants are also required to provide proof that they are currently pursuing their studies after March 2026. In addition, a family income certificate for the financial year 2026-27 showing the father’s annual income as less than ₹4 lakh must be submitted along with the application, as specified under the scheme.
The administration has advised students to ensure that all documents are accurate, complete and uploaded properly while submitting their applications. Any discrepancy or incomplete information could create difficulties during the verification process. Applicants should therefore check all details carefully before final submission.
District Welfare Officer Anu Bansal said that the District Welfare Department is implementing several welfare schemes of the Haryana government for eligible beneficiaries. She described the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Meritorious Students Modified Scholarship Scheme as an important initiative aimed at supporting students with good academic records.
