Holy soil from Guru Ravidas Ji’s birthplace in Varanasi dispatched to all 16 mandals, spreading the message of social harmony and equality

Devotees accorded a grand and devotional welcome to the Kalash Vandan Yatra organised on the occasion of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj as it arrived in Yamunanagar. The city resonated with devotional chants, drumbeats and flower showers, creating an atmosphere of faith, unity and social harmony.
The sacred Kalash carrying holy soil from Seer Govardhanpur, Varanasi, the birthplace of Guru Ravidas Ji, was ceremonially worshipped at Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Model Town. Following the religious rituals, the holy Kalash was respectfully dispatched to all 16 mandals of the district, enabling devotees across Yamunanagar to offer prayers and seek blessings.
Addressing the gathering, Haryana Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Shyam Singh Rana said the Kalash Vandan Yatra would carry Guru Ravidas Ji’s timeless message of equality, brotherhood and social harmony to every corner of Haryana. He recalled the grand reception the yatra received at Alipura village in the Radaur Assembly constituency and said Guru Ravidas Ji’s teaching, “Man Changa To Kathauti Mein Ganga,” continues to inspire humanity to follow the path of righteousness and inner purity. He informed that the sacred Kalash Yatra would continue visiting Guru Ravidas temples across the state until 20 February 2027.
During the ceremony, Yamunanagar Mayor Suman Bahmani, BJP District President Rajesh Sapra, and Mahant Shri Nirmal Das of Guru Ravidas Temple at Kapal Mochan also addressed the gathering, highlighting the life, teachings and contribution of Guru Ravidas Ji towards building an egalitarian society. Saints and religious leaders blessed the devotees and urged them to uphold the ideals of harmony, humanity and social justice.
A large number of devotees, social and religious leaders, public representatives and BJP functionaries participated in the event and pledged to spread Guru Ravidas Ji’s message of unity and equality among the people.
Among those present were MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora, former Minister Kanwar Pal, former MLA Balwant Singh, Rosy Malik Anand, former Mayor Madan Chauhan, Zila Parishad Chairman Ramesh Chand Thaska, Haryana Safai Karamchari Commission Chairman Ishwar Palaka, former Ayush Director Satpal Bahmani, senior BJP leaders Rameshwar Chauhan and Om Pal, BJP District General Secretaries Narendra Rana and Praveen Khadri, municipal councillors, mandal presidents and other distinguished guests.
PNB RSETI Awards Certificates to Skill Trainees, Encourages Self-Employment
The Punjab National Bank Rural Self Employment Training Institute (PNB RSETI), Yamunanagar, organised a certificate distribution ceremony for trainees who successfully completed skill development courses aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship.
RSETI Director Ravi Goyla said the institute regularly conducts vocational training programmes for unemployed youth to help them become self-reliant. The latest batch completed courses in Junior Beauty Practitioner, Photography, Women’s Tailoring and Assistant Book Keeper.
Leading District Manager Subhash Chand, who attended the ceremony as Chief Guest, distributed certificates among the successful trainees. Congratulating them, he said Punjab National Bank continues to organise such programmes to spread awareness about its financial and self-employment schemes. He encouraged trainees to utilise the skills they had acquired to establish their own businesses and become financially independent.
He further informed participants that the institute not only provides skill training but also extends post-training guidance and support to help beneficiaries set up sustainable self-employment ventures.
The programme was successfully coordinated by Kamini Lata, Annu Devi and Lakhwinder Singh. Distinguished guests included NABARD DDM Sunil Malik, Haryana Women Development Corporation representative Satya Kumar, and Haryana Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation representative Vijay Kumar, who appreciated the institute’s efforts in promoting entrepreneurship and rural livelihood.
The organisers expressed confidence that such initiatives would continue to empower unemployed youth with practical skills and create greater opportunities for sustainable employment across the district.
