IGP Pankaj Nain promotes 27 ASIs to SIs and 27 Head Constables/EHCs to EASI; 22 personnel from Yamunanagar among those elevated

Ambala Range Inspector General of Police Pankaj Nain has promoted 54 police personnel across the range in recognition of their dedicated, disciplined and meritorious service. The promotions include 27 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) elevated to the rank of Sub-Inspector (SI), including two women police personnel, and 27 Head Constables/Essential Head Constables promoted to the rank of EASI.
The promoted personnel include 15 police employees from Ambala district, 17 from Kurukshetra district and 22 from Yamunanagar district. The promotions have been granted in accordance with departmental policy, taking into account the employees’ service record, commitment, discipline and performance.
Congratulating all the promoted personnel, IGP Pankaj Nain said promotion is an important milestone in the service career of any police employee. He said it represents recognition of an individual’s hard work, dedication, sense of duty and commitment towards responsibilities.
Nain said promotions for police personnel who have discharged their duties with sincerity and responsibility over a long period help boost their morale and also motivate other employees to perform their duties with greater dedication. He emphasised that a promotion also brings increased responsibilities and expectations.
The IGP expressed confidence that all the promoted personnel would discharge their new responsibilities with seriousness, discipline and dedication and work towards further enhancing the dignity and reputation of the police department.
Of the 54 promotions, 27 ASIs have been elevated to the rank of SI. The group includes two women police personnel. Another 27 personnel from the Head Constable/EHC category have been promoted to the rank of EASI.
In Ambala district, six ASIs have been promoted to the rank of SI. They are Mukesh Chand, Labh Singh, Raghubir Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Ravinder Singh and woman ASI Mahinder Kaur.
Nine personnel from the Head Constable/EHC category in Ambala district have been promoted to EASI. They are EHC Naresh Kumar, EHC Harjinder Singh, EHC Jagjit Singh, EHC Bhupinder Singh, EHC Gurjant Singh, EHC Ravinder Singh, EHC Pradeep Kumar, EHC Pradeep Singh and HC Sukhwinder Singh.
Kurukshetra district has recorded 17 promotions. Nine ASIs have been elevated to the rank of SI. They are Manoj Kumar, Surendra Kumar, Satish Kumar, Jasbir Singh, Sachin Kumar, Balwan Singh, Baljit Singh, Kuldeep Singh and woman ASI Babita.
Eight personnel from the Head Constable/EHC category in Kurukshetra have been promoted to EASI. They are EHC Ravi Kumar, HC Mandeep Singh, EHC Lalit Kumar, HC Sanjay, EHC Ashok Kumar, EHC Dalbir Singh, EHC Satish Kumar and HC Gurjit Singh.
Yamunanagar district accounts for the highest number of promotions in the range, with 22 police personnel being elevated to higher ranks. Twelve ASIs have been promoted to SI. They are Rajiv Kumar, Narmail Singh, Virender Kumar, Manish Kumar, Jaspal Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Shamsher Singh, Jasbir Singh, Jitender Singh, Naresh Kumar, Raj Kumar and Subhash Chand.
Another 10 personnel from the Head Constable/EHC category in Yamunanagar have been promoted to EASI. They are EHC Mange Ram, EHC Sanjay Kumar, EHC Ravinder Kumar, EHC Ravinder Kumar, HC Rajiv Chauhan, EHC Jarnail Singh, HC Amarjit Singh, HC Anil Kumar, EHC Jaswinder Singh and EHC Rajesh Kumar.
The promotion list reflects representation from all three districts under the Ambala Range. The departmental decision recognises the contribution of personnel who have served with commitment and maintained discipline while carrying out their responsibilities.
Police personnel occupy positions that require continuous attention to duty, public service and organisational discipline. Advancement in rank not only recognises past service but also places greater responsibility on those promoted to perform effectively in their new roles.
The IGP stressed this aspect while congratulating the promoted employees, making it clear that the new ranks should be accompanied by an equally strong sense of responsibility. He expressed the expectation that the personnel would continue to maintain professional standards and contribute positively to the functioning of the department.

Those promoted from ASI to SI will take on responsibilities associated with the higher supervisory rank, while personnel elevated to EASI will also be expected to carry out their duties with greater responsibility and professionalism.
The IGP said he was confident that the promoted personnel would uphold the trust placed in them and continue to serve with dedication. He also hoped that their professional conduct would set a positive example for colleagues and contribute to strengthening the department’s public image.
The promotion process covers a total of 54 personnel: 27 ASIs elevated to SIs and 27 Head Constables/EHCs elevated to EASIs. District-wise, Ambala has 15 promotions, Kurukshetra 17 and Yamunanagar 22.
The announcement has provided an occasion for the promoted personnel and their families to celebrate an important professional achievement while also marking the beginning of a new phase of greater responsibility within the police service.
