The General House meeting of the Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation will be held on July 16 at 11 am at the Gymkhana Club, where councillors are expected to deliberate on 43 agenda items concerning urban infrastructure, civic amenities and development projects across the municipal area.The meeting will be chaired by Mayor Suman Bahmani in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad. Apart from reviewing new proposals, the House will also assess the implementation status of resolutions approved during previous meetings. Mayor Suman Bahmani said the agenda includes discussions on the beautification of entry points to the city, installation of rainwater harvesting systems in Municipal Corporation buildings and public parks, action against illegally operating meat shops, procurement of jetting machines for cleaning underground drainage networks and progress on ₹25 lakh repair works sanctioned for individual wards. The House is also expected to review proposals related to shifting roadside vendors to designated street vending zones, extending civic infrastructure and basic amenities to colonies recently brought under the Municipal Corporation’s jurisdiction through a Haryana Government notification, and measures to improve urban services in newly included areas. Waterlogging during the monsoon, the booking process for community centres, the Municipal Corporation’s land inventory, illegal encroachments on civic land and the status of vacant municipal properties will also come up for discussion. In addition, councillors are expected to deliberate on ward-level proposals concerning the construction and repair of streets, drains and community centres, along with other civic development projects aimed at improving public infrastructure and municipal services. Mayor Bahmani said the General House meeting would play an important role in accelerating the city’s development by facilitating timely decisions on key public infrastructure and governance issues.
